Butterscotch Buttercream Frosting

This needs no introduction. Use it liberally on cakes and cupcakes. Give some to your voisins, and they'll love you toujours. That comes in handy when you need them to pick up your 75 amazon packages that inevitably come when you are out of town.

1 cup Nestle Butterscotch morsels

3 Tablespoons heavy cream

1/2 cup butter, room temp

Generous pinch of kosher salt

5 cups (625 g) powdered sugar

1/3 cup whole milk


Warm cream in microwave and pour over butterscotch chips.  Let sit a few minutes and then stir until melted.  Beat butter and salt in stand mixer for 2 minutes until fluffy then pour in butterscotch mixture slowly.  Mix until incorporated and add half the powdered sugar, then half the milk.  Mix well then add the rest of the sugar then the milk.  Mix on medium high speed for several minutes.  Voilà!  It’s as easy as that.  If the frosting is too think, add more milk.  Too thin?  Add more sugar.⁣ Enjoy!
